Olympic Proof that Drag Beats Thrust in the Longer Term
And why this matters to your tech company
Chris Guest has published a new article that uses the analogy of competitive swimming to explain why teams must invest in quality in order to compete in the long term.
In both swimming and in tech innovation companies, continuing to move quickly in the long term requires:
- Reduction of Drag
- Increased Traction
- Increased Fitness
It also true for both swimming and technical delivery that:
If you only concentrate on thrust, drag will always increase it’s resistance and exhaust you. But if you reduce drag, you get faster thrust, for free.
