Role: Security Engineer (Quantum Cryptography)


Xolvio is supporting a client in the quantum technology space to strengthen their security engineering capabilities. The client develops advanced cryptographic and information-security systems and maintains proprietary and open-source libraries used in cutting-edge computing and embedded environments.We are looking for a strong Security Engineer with experience in cryptography and modern software delivery to help redesign and enhance the client’s quantum-focused security offerings. This includes enabling deployment across a wide variety of use cases such as embedded systems, server software, and network appliances.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
You will join a software delivery team and work on:

  • Designing and implementing information-security products
  • Collaborating closely on technical specifications
  • Refining and breaking down work items
  • Writing tests, code, and configuration (primarily Python and TypeScript)
  • Debugging software and distributed systems
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on peer contributions
  • Advising on current and upcoming client security projects


Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Proven experience designing and building information-security products
  • Experience working in a modern software delivery team
  • Ability to deliver maintainable Python and TypeScript code
  • Test automation as your primary quality-assurance approach
  • Experience with CI/CD and continuous delivery pipelines
  • High level understanding of cryptography and security best practices


Not required, but valued:

  • Experience with quantum cryptography or quantum-computing concepts
  • Background in product design or product marketing for security products
  • Contributions to open-source cryptographic libraries
  • Academic or research exposure to quantum-related security topics
  • German language skills


Compensation:
This role can begin as either a full-time position or contract, depending on candidate preference. Xolvio offers medical/dental/vision benefits to full-time employees. Compensation is competitive and depends on experience and location. There is potential for future transition into a permanent role with the client.
